Hosted in Islamabad, this event linked universal acceptance with digital accessibility for persons with disabilities. It brought together government officials, technical experts, disability advocates, academia, and partners including ICANN, MOITT, UNESCO, NIC, and the Internet Society Pakistan Islamabad Chapter.
The discussion emphasised that digital systems must support all domain names and email addresses across languages, scripts, and formats, and that this technical readiness matters for inclusion in practice.
This three-day workshop in Islamabad was organised with PTA and the Internet Society Accessibility Standing Group. It focused on accessibility, digital rights, internet governance, leadership, privacy, digital security, and advocacy.
The report describes the initiative as the first national-level training of its kind for persons with disabilities in the internet governance domain and notes broad disability, gender, and geographic participation.
